What is Rutgers University-Camden SIFE?
Rutgers-Camden SIFE is our very
own chapter of the global organization. What sets us both apart and ahead of
other SIFE teams is our location. In a city (
CAMDEN
,
NJ
) where many people struggle to make ends meet and children grow up without
considering the fact that someday they can be successful and do something they
enjoy, there is plenty of room for growth. With that room for growth is the
opportunity to reach out to this once thriving center of commerce and its
inhabitants to spread both the knowledge and empowerment that the city as a
whole seems to be lacking.
Luckily for the city of
Camden
, there is a school like
Rutgers
University
with students who have the intelligence and the resources to truly make a
difference in reshaping the city. The underlying goal of SIFE is to change the
world. The underlying goal of Rutgers Camden-SIFE is to change our little piece
of it first. No one can change the world on their own. But if we contribute to
the cause by at least improving the quality of life and standard of living in
our own community, the task of changing the world will be no match for the
combined efforts of SIFE teams all over the globe.
Why join Rutgers University-Camden SIFE?
- SIFE
is a great way for business students and any other interested
students to give back to the community. Help people of all
ages reach their full potential. Teach them the skills they need to
be successful and empower them to do great things to improve their
community.

the classroom to real life situations, and help people

skills and leadership skills that will prepare you for the

in large corporations. Many of the large corporations that sponsor SIFE (Campbell’s
Soup Company, Kraft Foods, Nortel, Unilever, PepsiCo, American Greetings,
Radio Shack, 3M, Aflac, Bic, Sealed Air, The Coca-Cola Company, Levi
Strauss, Anheuser-Busch, CVS, Smucker’s, Pfizer, KPMG, and many, many more)
have said that they use SIFE as their main recruiting tool for new
employees. These SIFE students are more than a name on a resume to
executives. These companies know that these students are smart, dedicated
workers because they are actually out there putting their skills to work.
- SIFE is a great networking opportunity.
As a SIFE team member, you will meet a countless number of people; ranging
from students in your own school to students from SIFE teams at other
schools, and from entry level business people to top executives.
- SIFE provides you with the chance to be
part of a team, as well as the chance to apply yourself and become
a champion.
What can I do to help the team and the cause?
Our
team has several projects already in progress that you are more than welcome to
help out on. We also have several project ideas that we can share with you if
you’d like to begin your own project. If you have an idea for a project in
