The undergraduate program in marketing provides students with a solid foundation in marketing principles and techniques. The program also provides a focused study of the consumer and equips students with a foundation to investigate and analyze customers, other parties in the marketing channel, and external publics who may be affected by the marketing process. Graduates of this program are qualified for positions in sales, middle management, and marketing research or to pursue graduate or professional education. Undergraduate students may also specialize with options in either Marketing Research or E-Marketing. Marketing Research Specialization The Marketing Research Specialization prepares students for careers with marketing research suppliers (such as A.C. Nielsen) and users of marketing research (including manufacturers of consumer and industrial products, service providers, and advertising agencies). In addition to basic coursework in marketing, students take elective courses that should improve their analytic and computing skills. Students are also encouraged to complete an internship in a marketing research position. E-Marketing Specialization The E-Marketing (aka, eMarketing) Specialization allows students to gain an in-depth understanding of the marketing aspects of e-commerce. Students completing this track should be well prepared for positions with both Internet firms and with brick-and-mortar companies in any kind of marketing capacity. In addition to basic coursework in marketing, students take elective courses that should improve their analytic and computing skills. Students are also encouraged to complete an internship in an E-Marketing position or with an E-Marketing firm. Marketing Minor Any undergraduate student may also choose to minor in marketing. The objective of any minor track at the School of Business-Camden is to supplement the student's major area of study with basic accounting, finance, management, or marketing knowledge. The marketing minor prepares students to work with marketing professionals. Both undergraduate and graduate students may be eligible for recognition through membership in Mu Kappa Tau, the national marketing honor society. Mu Kappa Tau is the only Marketing Honor Society to offer both National recognition and chapter Affiliation to its members.
