History: Past, Present, & Future

   Past

The Multi-Cultural Organization is derived from the once existing Educational Opportunity Fund Club (E.O.F.) which was sponsored through the E.O.F. Program administered by Dr. Lambert Jackson and supporting staff.  The new Multi-Cultrual Organization is one year old and has the potential to become the largest, most productive organization on campus.  Our members for the '98-'99 year have organized clothing drives, soup kitchen visits, fund raisers, and co-facilitated multi-cultural workshops.  We pride ourselves on the organization's biggest accomplishment, World Week!  World Week is a university wide week long celebration to honor the diversity of our student population at Rutgers.

   Present

Currently, the executive staff have been convening amongst themselves as well as with faculty and community leaders to ensure a fun and productive 1999-2000 year.

   Future

Plans are in effect to establish a multi-cultural newspaper; workshops; and other projects.  Your anticipation and ideas will be very much welcomed and appreciated. Our meetings will be held every Monday in the Campus Center, room West A at 12:15pm during free period.
